Getting youth on environmental issues during a beach party

Workshop on environmental issues during a youth beach party took place in Dali on August 25th . The event was organized by the local participants from the city as part of their learning action process.
The volunteers prepared interactive games to include into the spirit of the party. The main focus was the promotion of recycling and sustainable living.
This activity, organized with enthusiasm by the GEGL participants of Dali, promoted all 3 SDGs through interactive games and active participation of the youth. People with their own reusable cup got a discount on the refreshment of their choice.
The design of the event has been prepared during the on-site training in Dali of July 28th delivered by the Future World Center. Dali is one of the five localities in the country involved in the project.
In addition to Dali and Lefkara, Ypsonas, Athienou and Episkopi also take part in the project. In February and March the Future World Center has approached the local governments and representatives of the Youth Councils in Dali and of the Community Council in Episkopi to engaged them in the Global Education goes local Project. Both public officials and volunteers participated into the introductory training program on June 10-16. As a follow up on-site trainings have been conducted to plan the learning action process and to support the local communities in July and October.
